The “RIZR”

July 25, 2006

“Motorola has officially announced the RIZR Z3, or what we have known in rumors as the Capri. It’s the first slide-style handset in the RAZR design series that is destined for a US launch (there was one prior to now just for the Asian market).”

This looks like a pretty awesome phone. I don’t own a RAZR but one of my friends does an its pretty cool, I however don’t really like flip phones, so this one I might buy.

AMD buys ATI

July 25, 2006

AMD+ATI=WTF?

AMD buying ATI doesn’t really bother me, why?, i don’t really like either companies, I do own a PC that has an AMD chip in it, but it just sits in the corner. I don’t own anything made by ATI, all NVIDIA over here!!! I was thinking about getting a PC with an “AMD X2″, but since i heard about Intels new “Core 2 Duo” no more AMD in this house……at least for the time being.

Mac or Dell?

July 22, 2006

Which one to choose? I’m in a dilema, I’m going to buy a laptop in the next few months, but I’ve come to a roadblock. I currently have two windows desktops that are decent, one a P4 intel box the other a slightly older amd box, neither of these are very portable as you can guess. So, since summer began i thought i should get a laptop something i can bring to school, on vacations and just move around my house. I started to search the web for the laptop that would suit my needs(something moderately fast, good enough for some occasional gaming, photoshop work, and light video editing.) I’ve always loved Mac’s they were the first computers that i had used, and that we used at school, until last when i changed to a school uses windows. The first site i went to was the apple store and priced out how much a macbook would be ($1774.00) which was a bit more than what i was looking to spend, but reasonable. A s a second choice i was looking at the dell Inspiron 6400 which i could get cheaper with a better configuration,(but its not all shiny with a little camera.) it ended up being $1517.00 which was almost exactly what i was looking to spend. i’m still stuck though, mac or dell? if you read this leave a comment or something, ’cause i just don’t know……

Youtube

“The popularity of YouTube is growing at an astronomical rate, as web traffic to the video-sharing site grew 75% just in the week ending July 16.” I go to youtube at least once a day, whether it is from a link in an email i get or from a post on digg or whatever. this site is now part of my websurfing experience and the fact that many people are talking about how it is burning through bandwith and will be dead in a few months really disappoints me. now when most people think “web video” they think youtube.

here’s a cool video i found on youtube just today.

The avalanche - Sufjan Stevens

“Outtakes and Extras from the Illinois album shamelessly compiled by Sufjan Stevens.” Yeah, the title pretty much says it all — but it’s a rare breed of workaholic musician who ends up with 75 minutes of leftovers from a 75 minute CD. Far from essential, but still irresistible if you love Illinois as much as everyone seems to (the album, that is…) A pleasant enough way to spend some time with Sufjan until the next state comes along… I’m hoping for California.

here’s a little MP3 off the album this is probably my favorite song.

exterior of house

a house designed by an italian guy has the ability to rotate the center pylon of the house. This reveals a new room each time it is rotated. didn’t clean your bedroom, just rotate revealing your spotless kitchen.

World Firefox Day

July 16, 2006

firefox

“Are you a fan of Firefox? Want to spread the word to a friend who hasn’t heard of it yet? If you can convince just one person to switch to Firefox before September 15th, you’ll both be immortalized in Firefox 2.0’s source code.” I love firefox, its defintely the best browser to use, plus you can’t go wrong with all the cool extensions.
